Barbara Lee Walters

Barbara Lee Walters, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 77. She was born on December 2, 1948, in Menominee, Michigan, to Ted (Edward Jr.) and Edna (Sheley) Walters. She graduated from Carol City High School in 1967 and then attended Florida State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology in 1971. She went on to get an Executive MBA from Georgia State University in 1987. She spent her career in medical marketing, 18 years with BD, then moved to First Medical and Lumenis, and retired from Heidelberg Engineering in 2011. In her spare time, Barbara was an avid jogger and enjoyed tennis and snow skiing. She loved to travel and had visited 36 countries by the time she was 61. Her favorite place was in her Nocatee community, where she enjoyed her book club, entertained friends, and decorated her beautiful model home. Barbara is survived by her sister, Marie Gilliland from Columbus, Georgia; her nephew, John (Wendy) Gilliland from San Antonio, Texas; and two great-nieces, Megan (Benny) Mate and Rylie Gilliland from San Antonio, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Teddy (Edward III) Walters. A memorial Service will be held at Ponte Vedra Valley Funeral Home on January 10, 2026 at 2 pm.
