Barbara June (Neathery) Washburn, 88, of Pottsboro, Texas, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Monday, October 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 17, 1937, to Roy Homer and Vee Shreve Ball Neathery of Whitewright, Texas. June lived a life marked by devotion-to God and to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Reburn Washburn who stood by her side faithfully through every season of life. Ken and June (Ken & Barbie) were married on July 7, 2007 after both had been widowed in a previous marriage.
Her children Karl Louis and his wife Glenna of Paris, Texas, Kathy Bennett and her husband Robert of McKinney, Texas, Alan Louis and his wife Theresa, of Keene, Texas, and Terry Louis, of Denison, Texas.
Stepchildren: Sondra Lovett and husband Brad of Richland Hills, Texas, Carol Williamson of Durant, OK, Pam and husband Randy Crossman of Durant, OK and Marcia Marlow of Avon, IN.
She is also survived by one brother, Jack Neathery and sister Linda Neathery Knorpp, along with ten Grandchildren, and numerous Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
June was the sixth child in a family of ten children. She was preceded in death by her parents; Roy Homer Neathery, Vee Neathery, and brothers and sisters: Mattie Louise Neathery Heed, Maurice Roy Neathery, Robert Byron Neathery, Anna Bess Neathery Robinson, Marjorie Vee Neathery Grimes, Martha Jane Neathery Bearden and Brynda Maye Neathery Clay.
June graduated from Whitewright High School in 1955 and soon after went to work for Sears & Roebuck in Dallas. She worked the majority of her career with GMAC. She retired at the age of 55 to live out her dream retirement overlooking the lake in Texoma.
June loved her Church family at Park Avenue Church of Christ, and more than anything spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved to cook for them and host family gatherings where she could serve, and make sure everyone had a wonderful time. Hers was the home where everyone felt welcome and wanted to be.

June was my aunt. June loved her entire family every day of her life. She was a devoted family member and a devoted Christian. I will always remember her for many good wholesome things and her magical smile and laughter which always uplifted others around her or those in hearing distance of her voice. June was a very hard working and devoted person to everything she did in her life. She held the highest standards for herself and her dear family and friends. She meant a great deal to all members of our family including my late Mother, Mattie Louise Heed. My Mother dearly loved June. My Mother greatly admired June´s great ability to tackle difficult situations and difficult times in her life. June will be greatly missed by all who knew her. June always held a loving and welcoming heart towards others.
