Obituary of Barbara J. Zarba
Barbara Joan (Berg) Zarba, born January 22, 1934
Married at age 19 to Salvatore Zarba, and were married for 70 years. Barbara raised her three kids in Burlington, where she was a stay at home mom until her children were at middle school aged. She worked proudly at a company called Space-Tac, where she was a highly respected supervisor. Her job worked closely with NASA. Her career later changed to the medical field. She pursued her education and became a medical assistant. She worked closely with local Burlington doctors for many years. Later she changed jobs and spent the rest of her career at Lahey Clinic's allergy department.
They had a lovely home with a pool and she would cook these Sunday dinners for all her family and the many friends that would stop by. She enjoyed entertaining and had a wonderful flair for making simple meals a feast.
She retired and they together moved to Florida to enjoy the sun. She missed her family while living there, and finally convincing Sal to return to live in Stoneham.
Barbara loved her family more than anything. She never missed a grandchild's birthday no matter where she was living. She delighted in their stories, achievements and talents.
Barbara was the loving mother of her their children, Susan Gormady & her husband George of Haverhill, Steven Zarba of Woburn & his fiancee Julie Santassuoso, and Brad Zarba & his wife Kathleen of Memphis, TN. She was the proud grandmother of Jeffrey Gormady, Ryan Gormady, Hayley Merces, Steven Zarba, Bianca Mahoney, Joseph Zarba, and Breana Alexander. She was the great grandmother of Jeffrey, Matthew, Emma, Casey, Madison, Marcus, Jason, Gavin, Luke, Josie, and Stella.
Burial will be private.
