Barry Corbin

Barry J. Corbin, 76, of Essex Junction, VT died unexpectedly at his home on July 8, 2023. Barry was born in Monroe, MI in 1947; he lived in Dundee, MI and South Hero, VT before moving with his family to Essex Junction, VT in the 1950s. Barry attended Essex Junction High School (class of 1965) and Champlain College (class of 1967). Following graduation, Barry met and married his wife Lynette Corbin (née Jacques), at St. Monica's Church in Barre, VT in 1971.
Barry was employed at IBM for 32 years, during which time he pursued a Bachelor's degree from Trinity College and several other professional certifications. Following his tenure at IBM, Barry went on to work for Liquid Measurement Systems until his retirement. Following his retirement Barry volunteered as a Tax-Aide for AARP.
Barry was an active member of his community; he served in Vermont National Guard, and volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master of Troop 624. For several years and prior to his death he was a 3rd Degree of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Rice Council member as well as a Comptroller for the 4th Degree Bishop Rice Assembly. Barry was also active in the Family Motor Coach Association/ Green Mountain Chapter where he served as Vice-President and later President.
Barry leaves behind his wife, Lynette Corbin, his mother Mildred Corbin of Essex Junction, VT, his son James Corbin of Fairfax, VT, his daughter Crystal Corbin (partner James Esposito) of Surrey, UK, brothers Thomas Corbin (wife Marguerite) of South Port, NC and William Corbin (wife Cathy) of Underhill, VT, sister-in law Nancy Corbin of Essex Junction, VT, brothers-in law Denis Jacques and Michael Jacques (wife Linda) of Barre, VT, and his aunt Patricia Corbin of South Hero, VT. Barry also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Barry was predeceased by his father Robert J. Corbin, his brother Michael Corbin, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visiting hours will be held at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home in Essex Junction, VT on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at the Holy Family Church on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
