Barry Nelson Hannah, 78, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 9:08 pm, Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. He was born on January 24, 1947, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Myron T. and Sarah June (Webb) Hannah.
Barry was a 1965 graduate of Oil Springs High School in Paintsville. He married Judith (Krueger) Elliott on March 17, 1982 at the First Church of God in Wabash, Indiana. Barry worked and retired from Wabash Alloys in 2007 after 40 years. He was a former member of the First Church of God, and a current member of Christian Heritage Church, both in Wabash. Barry also helped the First Church of God fix up their former property on 100 N. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and did so all over the United States, and was also an avid University of Kentucky fan.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Hannah of Wabash; four children, Rouie Hawkins of Wabash, Lori (Bryan) Stewart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lisa (Jeff) Cook and Michael (Theresa) Elliott, all of Wabash; nine grandchildren, Aaron (Tracy) Griffith, Zachary France, Hannah Griffith, Evren Wilder Elliott, Shelby (Devin Bitzel) Hawkins, Michael (Jourdan) Cook, Marcus Cook, Zoe Elliott, and August Elliott; eight great grandchildren; and siblings, Stanley (Carolyn) Hannah of Wabash, Keith (Julia) Hannah of Paintsville, and Rita Kinner of Sykesville, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Ford Hawkins Jr., brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Janet Hannah.
There will be a Celebration of Barry's life at 11:00 am Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Wabash First Church of God, 595 S Huntington St, Wabash, IN 46992, with Pastors Robb Rensberger and Tim Prater officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is the charity of the donor's choice.
