Barry Levine Obituary

Barry was a graduate of Upper St. Clair High School, Penn State University, and Temple University School of Medicine. A gifted psychiatrist, Barry helped hundreds of patients over three decades find hope and healing. He remained committed to his work until the day before his passing. In addition to his passion for medicine, those close to him will remember his intellect, his love of music, and his sense of humor.
Barry was endlessly proud of his daughter and the work she was doing in Cleveland (although he always hoped she would come to her senses and return to Pittsburgh!). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, 44102.
A celebration of life will take place in January at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care in Peters Township on Friday, January 17 at 2 pm.

Barry was an avid cigar connoisseur and a great man. He's come in almost every night just to buy a couple cigars and we'd have nice small talk. I've been working at the same place for 4 years and enjoyed seeing him come in. An amazing regular, polite and kind, he will be missed dearly. From the family here at Jernigans, we offer you our sincerest condolences.

Barry was a wonderful friend, always so kind, empathetic and funny. So grateful my husband Dan and I were able to share years of friendship with him. He is sorely missed and will be in our hearts and memories forever. Love and prayers to Melissa and the entire family.
