Barry Eugene “Buddy” Mills, Jr., 70, departed on his final cruise and joined Peggy to be with our Lord & Savior on Monday, January 20, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Knoxville, TN on October 7, 1954 to the late Barry Eugene Mills, Sr., Dorothy Lee Lance Mills and was the husband of 30 years to the late Peggy Jo Mills.
Buddy who had retired, was a longtime employee of Glen Raven Mills. He was a man of many talents; a wood-working extraordinaire where he created masterpieces of art that showcased the passion, he had not only in the furniture he built but in life as well. For all that knew Buddy, you knew he was an amazing husband, father, uncle, and of course everyone’s favorite Papa that supported, put his family first and could always counted on.
Though our beloved Buddy has sailed off into the sunset aboard the USS Eternal Life he’s passing on to us a lasting legacy of love, kindness and devotion that we can all embrace. Known for his smooth dance moves and the occasional entertainment he brought us many laughs and memorable moments. He always made everyone feel special and to have known Buddy was truly an honor. He enjoyed playing golf from an early age, even more so when it was alongside his boys. Buddy greatly enjoyed his many vacations going on cruises and/or trips to the casino with his beautiful wife Peggy and their many friends. Buddy’s memory will always live on in our hearts and minds for all who knew him!
Buddy is survived by his sons, Bryan Mills (Jenn) and Brandon Mills; daughters, Jody Weaver (Rodney) and Jill Morgan (Tom); grandchildren, Jordan Kwaiser (Dylan), Rachel Weaver, Kelsey Flowers (Bobby), Hunter Morgan, Jacob Gatewood, Maddy Mills, Gracie Mills, Bella Mills, Olivia Spangler and Christian Mills; great-grandchildren, Jason Kwaiser, Dawson Kwaiser and Sutton Flowers and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; sister, Debbie Brown and his two brothers, Dale Mills and Butch Mills.
