John R. Mills, Jr.

John R. Mills, Jr. 73, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Fairmont. He was born October 31, 1951 in Cumberland, MD, a son of the late John and Dorothy (Lewis) Mills.

John was a 1971 graduate of Morgantown High School and was an avid fan of West Virginia University. He was a lifelong resident of Morgantown and a devoted son. He was the owner of Almost Heaven Trucking and was a truck driver for 40 years. He loved being on the road with his pets and saw almost the entire United States throughout his career. In his free time, he enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and riding a golf cart.

John never met a stranger and had a close circle of friends that are dear to him. They include Carol Williams, Wanda Moran, Regis Young, Fred Burch, Dave Fisher, Ron Johns, as well as many others. He is also survived by his dogs, Trooper and Ralphie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, PO Box 1090, Dellslow, WV 26531.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, August 21st from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with friend and caregiver, Joe Leonhard officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
