Basheera Muslima Foggie, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2024. She was born on September 7, 1992, in Columbus, Ohio to her loving parents Jasper Foggie and Vickie Baldwin.
Basheera's passion for literature led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in English from The Ohio State University. Armed with her words and vivid imagination, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a published author of two delightful children's books, in addition to teaching and mentoring children at libraries. Basheera had a unique ability to engage young minds with her enchanting stories and captivate their hearts through the written word.
Writing was not only Basheera's profession but her greatest joy as well. She found solace in expressing herself through various forms of writing – be it pouring her thoughts into personal journals or crafting heartfelt cards for loved ones. Her gift for storytelling extended beyond just short stories; Basheera had the incredible talent to weave together entire books that transported readers into magical worlds full of wonder and awe.
In addition to writing, Basheera embraced the art of knitting. With delicate hands and an eye for detail, she created remarkable hand-knitted blankets, scarves, and hats that became cherished keepsakes for family and friends. Each stitch was infused with love and warmth – a reflection of Basheera's kind-hearted nature.
The loss of this remarkable individual is deeply mourned by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow at this time, we find solace in the knowledge that Basheera passed away surrounded by her loving family at home.
