Mineral Point - Beatrice Palzkill, age 87, entered into Heaven on Friday, May 24, 2024, at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Montfort, WI on December 13, 1936, the youngest of seven children to Julia and John Straka.
She was a "go-getter" from the start. She was the first daughter to get her driver's license and was Valedictorian of her class at Cobb High School. After high school, she headed to Madison to work and play a little. She came back closer to home to work at St. Joseph's Hospital. She soon met the love of her life, Tom Palzkill, and they were married on October 9, 1965. She and Tom farmed for 30 + years before moving into town to start a new chapter of life.
She loved life and was always on the go. You could find her at daily mass, playing cards, socializing with friends, bowling, and golfing. She was an avid sports fan. She was the best aunt anyone could ask for. She beamed with joy at every event or occasion she shared with her nieces and nephews.
She was not only an aunt but a 2nd mother to Vicki Brennan, Brad Brennan, Jim Brennan, and Renee (Tony) Capozziello.
She is survived by sisters Dorothy Aussie and Delores Brennan. Sister-in-laws Mary Lynn and Marilyn Palzkill and brother-in-law Bill Palzkill, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Leo and Robert, sisters Bernadine, and Betty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Ss. MARY & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH in Mineral Point. Fr Tafadzwa Kushamba will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the church.
