Becky Ellen Ammons

It is with deepest sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Becky Ammons, who we lost on September 10, 2025.
Cherished daughter of Carol and Basil Harwood, Becky was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 20, 1959, where she spent much of her childhood. She and her family later moved to Florida before settling in New Jersey, where she met the love of her life, Dwain Ammons. They were married on November 21, 1992, and lived happily together as they raised their beloved daughter, Natasha Ammons. In 2017 the family moved to Union Mills, North Carolina, where Becky spent the last years of her life with her husband, daughter, and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Becky leaves behind so many who will miss her dearly, including her father, Basil Harwood; husband, Dwain Ammons; daughter, Natasha Ammons (Ryan Soper); granddaughters, Riley and Aubrey Soper; sister, Lisa Jernegan (Ronald Jernegan); brothers, Jeff Brouster (Monica Brouster) and Mark Harwood (Donna Harwood); and many nieces and nephews. We have no doubt that she's been greeted in heaven by the open and loving arms of her mother, Carol Harwood; her brother, Steven Brouster; and her sisters, Julie Evans and Lori Jackson.
Becky was a constant source of love and light to her family. In years past she loved crafting, channeling her passion into beautiful creations. She loved spending time with her family, often opening her home to her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She left all of her family members and friends with lasting memories they will always carry with them. She will never be forgotten by those who loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service in honor of Becky on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
