Benjamin Ledezma Guzman

Benjamin L. Guzman of Klamath Falls, Oregon passed away on September 25, 2025, at age 74. Born on March 17, 1951, in Cañadas de Obregón, Jalisco, Mexico, Benjamin immigrated to the United States when he was 16 years old, settling in Klamath Falls. He met and married the former Stephanie Jasso of Klamath Falls in 1973.
Benjamin was a hard worker. He made a career working for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF), holding numerous positions and earning many promotions. He retired from BNSF in 2008 after 32 years of dutiful service. In addition to his career with BNSF, Benjamin was an avid farmer and rancher, raising goats, chickens, pigs, and cattle. He was especially proud of his cattle and would show pictures of them to anyone around him.
Benjamin was a generous man. Together with his wife, Stephanie, they fostered numerous children, ensuring they were taken care of until they were ready to be united with their forever families. He also financially supported much of his extended family in Mexico and the United States. Benjamin was not a man of many words, but his love was expressed through his actions and hard work.
Benjamin is survived by Stephanie, his beloved wife of 52 years; his five children: Yolanda, Benjamin, Maria (Heriberto), Ruben and Mateo; his siblings Graciela Guzman, Carmen Rubacalva, Rosario Ponce, Lourdes Gutierrez and Manuel Guzman; his godchildren Alma Melgoza, Salvador and Lauro Rubalcava, Saul Betancourt, Sonya Moeckel and Danny Saltenberger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Benjamin is predeceased by his parents: the late Hirineo Guzman Plascencia and Maria Ledezma Romo; and his late godson, Mario Pizano.
Viewing will take place at O'Hair-Wards Funeral Chapel, 515 Pine St., Klamath Falls, Oregon. on Oct. 15th from 1-4pm. Funeral services will be at St. Pius Catholic Church, 4880 Bristol Ave., Oct. 16th, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30am, and Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, with a reception at St. Pius after the Mass.
