Benjamin W. Lanser, 33, son of Harry Lanser Jr and Catherine Wilson Lanser, longtime resident of Granby, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at home. Benjamin was born on March 18, 1991, in Granby, CT. He was a graduate of Granby Memorial High School, class of 2009.
Over the years Benjamin found himself working independently, in general construction and as a painter. He enjoyed the outdoors and hiking our lovely trails in Connecticut. As a youngster his interest in animals was nurtured by his participation in Granby 4H. He had a special connection to animals and will be profoundly missed by his most recent constant K9 companion DayDay.
He will be dearly missed by his father Harry Lanser Jr, and wife Diana of Granby, his mother Catherine Wilson Lanser of St. Augustine, FL; sister Sophia Zoraida Lanser of Granby; aunts, Rosemary Wallace of Coventry, Kristine Tarshis and her husband Jerry of Chicago, IL; uncles, Edward Wilson and his wife Michele of Vernon, Philip Wilson of Vernon, Dr. Michael Lanser and his wife Wei Wei of Orlando, FL, Robert Lanser and his wife Marilyn of Beach City, TX, Daniel Beaupre of Coventry, and many cousins. Benjamin is predeceased by his grandparents Barbara and Harry Lanser Sr., Edward Wilson Sr., Rosemary and William Donlin, and Sara Montenegro De Naupari; his brother, Harry R. Lanser III, as well as his aunt Cynthia Beaupre.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, 2:00PM, at Unitarian Society of Hartford, 50 Bloomfield Ave, Hartford, CT. 06105. In lieu of flowers, donation in Benjamin's memory may be made to Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness, 257 Lawrence Street, Hartford, CT 06106 or Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St. Unit O, East Hartford, CT, 06118.
