CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA
Benjamin F. Sauerbry, 45, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids surrounded by his family.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Benjamin was born on January 29, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Dale and Annette (Sevart) Sauerbry.
Ben graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1998. He’s been employed at Whirlpool in Amana since 2003. Ben was avid fisherman, and he always enjoyed a good day by the water. He loved to mushroom hunt and attend band concerts. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, he cherished the time with his family, especially his children, Anika and Kinnick.
Ben is survived by his children: Anika and Kinnick; parents, Dale and Annette Sauerbry; brother, Paul (Whitney Gaylord) Sauerbry; maternal grandmother, Judith (Vick) Wolfe, aunts and uncles: Bill (Cindy) Sevart, Pauline (Brian McDowell) Sauerbry, Dean Ostwinkle; and cousin and close friend, Jerry Thompson, and additional cousins.
Ben was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances and Kathleen Sauerbry; maternal grandfather, Donald Sevart; and an aunt, Debbie Ostwinkle.
