Tanya Lynn Murray, 54, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on June 12, 1970, in Manchester, the daughter of Joseph and Donna (Sellner) Fischer. Tanya was raised in the Earlville area and was a graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School.
Tanya was united in marriage to Roger Hettinger and two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. On May 14, 2005, Tanya was united in marriage to Patrick Murray. Two children were born to this union. Tanya worked for 15 years at Dollar General and most recently at Norby's Farm Fleet, both in Manchester.
Tanya enjoyed doing diamond art and collecting owls. Most of all she enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Murray of Manchester; her parents, Joseph (Donna) Fischer of Earlville; four children, Kodi (Tea) Hettinger of Cedar Rapids, Adam (Chelsea) Hettinger of Dubuque, Spencer Murray of Manchester, and Gracey Murray of Manchester; and five grandchildren, Carter, Landon, and Kayonna Hettinger, and Paisley and Kannon Hettinger. She is also survived by her five siblings, Nancy (Kyle) Van Meter of Coralville, Joe (Denice) Fischer of Newton, Dawn (Frank) O'Neill of Lexington, Virginia, Kory (Anita) Fischer of Pella, and Chad Fischer of Earlville; her in-laws, Sandra Murray of Cedar Rapids, Shirley (Richard) Kenny of Ryan, Marilyn (Chuck) Jones of Manchester, Betty (Larry) Hicks of Manchester, Joyce (Greg) Trey of Strawberry Point, Bill (JoAnn) Murray of Ryan, Mike (Kelley) Murray of Marion, Vicky Murray of Dubuque, and Kimberly Murray of Manchester.
Tanya was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Francis (Minnie Maybell) Murray; her in-laws, David, Franklin, and Robert Murray, and Brenda (Allen) Carper.
