Ben is survived by his parents, Michael and Kathy Yackley, his brother, Patrick (wife, Dawn) Yackley, his sister, Karen (husband, Evan Bossert) Yackley, two nephews, Emmett Bossert and Garrison Yackley, and a niece, Lily Yackley.
Ben grew up in Naperville and graduated from Naperville North High School. He then went on to earn a degree from North Central College in Naperville. Ben lived in Costa Rica, Washington state and Medellín, Colombia. He had many jobs including auditing, compliance, and teaching ESL (English as a Second Language).
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ben's memory can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Oh Dear Kathy and Mike and your family...I just learned today from my neighbor on Prairie that your Ben has passed away. I am so very sad to learn this sorrow. I fondly remember your white hand towel left soiled by little boys' hands so many years ago. His smile lingers in my memory and I know that those dear memories will carry you forward. Wishing you all the Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22,23...love joy peace patience kindness goodness generosity faithfulness gentleness self control...most of all, Love. Merna and Tom and Bryna....(classmates from Kindergarten to graduation)

I had a little boy, 49 years ago, my first. We learned together, how to get thru the days and nites. It was sometimes an arduous task, but we did it. He grew into a beautiful man with a big heart and big dreams. His smile would light up my day and his hugs were the very best. Somewhere along the way, he lost his light, and his smile and life became too big and he became too sad. He could not find his way back to home and peace. But he was mine for 49 years, and I will take that in my heart and hold it there forever. Love you always, Ben, Love Mom.
