Bernadette (nee Gaffney) Norton

On June 21, 2021, the Lord called for his loving children, devoted husband and wife, Joseph, and Bernadette along with their beloved son Tyler to be returned to him in Heaven. They entered our lives at different times; however, the Lord chose to call them back as the family he created, joined, and blessed as one, here on Earth. We are truly saddened that they had to leave us so soon, yet Heaven rejoices at the addition of three special angels to watch over all that were fortunate to have known them. Bernadette Norton, age 47, of Pottstown, PA passed away suddenly on June 21, 2021. She was born on June 19, 1974 in Philadelphia, PA to Daniel and Victoria (nee Kolody) Gaffney both of whom she is survived by. Bernadette was the wife of the late Joseph Norton and the beloved mother of the late Tyler Norton. Along with her parents Bernadette is survived by her brother Daniel Gaffney and his wife Sandra, her sister Sara Romano and her husband Daniel, her nephews Brandon Gaffney, Peter and Andrew Gaffney, her niece Georgia Romano, and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Bernadette was a graduate of Temple University and obtained her masters degree from West Chester University. She was a school counselor at Lauer's Park Elementary School in Reading, PA. Bernadette's life was watching her son Tyler play baseball and football. She was very proud of him and all of his accomplishments. Joseph & Bernadette were married in 2005 and blessed with Tyler in 2008. Joe and Bern were avid "Philly" sports fans. Joe was an "extremely passionate" Eagles fanatic while Bern was an enthusiastic Phillies fan. They enjoyed being heavily involved in all Tyler's activities whether in school or on the field. Joe, Bern, and Tyler will truly be missed. We encourage all to hold them close to your heart with fond and loving memories. Know they are at home in Heaven, safe and at peace. All who knew them were truly blessed to have them as a part of our lives while they were here. As much as it saddens our hearts they had to go, we must know that they will always be with us in heart, spirit, and memories we will cherish forever. Each of us is blessed to have three special angels looking down and watching over us. Relatives and friends are invited to share in her memory on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401 from 5-8 PM, then again on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at St. Aloysius Church, 223 Beech Rd, Pottstown, PA 19464 from 9:30-11:15, followed by her funeral mass promptly at 11:30AM, funeral mass will be live streamed via the church website http://www.saintaloysius.net/; interment to follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the Norton family's name may be made to St. Aloysius School, Pottstown, Pa
