Bernard Arnold Pilon ("Bernie"), loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died at home on August 15, 2025. Born on March 24, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, Bernard married Mary Alice Pilon (nee Hobbins) on August 20, 1955. Bernard was a devoted father to Denise and Marty Balogh, Susan and Jeff Wawrzaszek, Beth and David Van Natta, Barbara and Matthew Dauchess, John and Sanae Pilon, Mary Helen and Jeff Cushing (dec), Thomas Pilon, Stephen and Elizabeth Pilon, Pat and Adriana Pilon, Laura and Garlan Bowser, Ann and Jeff Snyder and Joe and Melissa Pilon. He is survived by 44 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and by Frances Pilon (Paul), Tom and Cathy Niemet (nee Hobbins) and Susan Hobbins. Bernard was preceded in death by his wife Mary and their siblings Eileen DeLucia, Paul Pilon, David Pilon, Fr. Mark Pilon, Margaret Busenbark, and Edward Hobbins.

Bernard graduated from the University of Detroit in 1956 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and worked as an Engineer and Program Manager at Bendix Corporation (later AlliedSignal) where he worked on both the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs.

Bernard was an active member of both St. Thomas parish in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and The Church of the Immaculate Conception parish in Towson, Maryland. He was a member of the Fr. O'Neill Council 4011 of the Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight. Bernie was also a Fourth Degree Knight, serving as Faithful Navigator for the State of Maryland. He was also an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.

The family will receive friends at the family-owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd. Towson, MD 21204 (beltway exit 26A) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 1PM – 4PM and 6PM-9PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception 200 Ware Ave. Towson, MD 21204 on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11AM. Interment, Mt. Maria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate memorial contributions in Bernie's name to Front Royal Pregnancy Center 11 S.
