Bernard "John" Sansone, age 97, a resident of North Salem, NY for over 50 years, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at home. He was born on December 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Nicholas and Rosalia Sansone.
John was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II as a radio operator on the U.S.S. Sepulga. He loved telling Navy stories and could easily repeat morse code for any letter, including his favorite words "bent wire".
John was a graduate of Iona College and spent the majority of his career running his own company, Chemcor Chemical Corp.
In addition to being a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, John loved all animals, but especially dogs. We are certain he was greeted by many furry and feathered friends at the rainbow bridge.
John was also an avid tennis player and made many lifelong friends.
John is the beloved husband of Carole and is the loving father of Bob of Eastchester, NY, Richard (Sasha) of Eastchester, NY, Patty (Burk) of Brookfield, CT and Nicole of Ridgefield, CT. He is the grandfather of Rob, Kristin, Sean, Danny, and Tommy and beloved Papa to Lucia and Olivia.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 27th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY. A service will be held during the visitation at 6 pm.
The interment will be on Wednesday, August 28th at 12 noon at Peach Pond Cemetery, Route 121, North Salem, NY 10560.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name are requested to be made to any animal rescue of your choosing.
