Bernard M. Weissman

Bernard M. "Bernie" Weissman, age 88 passed away Monday, March 30, 2026 at Eastwood Nursing Center, Negaunee, MI. He was born November 1, 1937 in Bronx, NY. He was the son of Harry and Lillian (Erlich) Weissman of Jewish decent. Bernie grew up in the Bronx and graduated in 1956. He attended the University of Maryland after graduation. Bernie then joined the military and became an Army MP (1960-1963). After his military service, Bernie moved to Detroit, MI and became a sales manager for Aslar Aluminum and Belvedere Construction. He enjoyed a life long career in sales and owned and operated his own businesses. Later in life, Bernie enjoyed selling real estate as a real estate mortgage broker. His hobbies included competitive pistol shooting, collecting firearms and military memorabilia and loved fishing.

Bernie is survived by his loving companion Carol Lee, his daughter Denise, grandchildren Michael Jr and Mark, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Sr, and brothers Joseph and Jack Weissman.

Spring graveside services and military honors will be held in the L'Anse Evergreen Cemetery.
