Bernea Lois Schmidt

Bernea Lois Schmidt, age 76 of Polk Township, Kunkletown, PA passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital Monroe Campus in Stroudsburg, PA.

Bernea was the loving wife of the late John Schmidt who preceded her in death in December 2019.

She was born in Somerville, NJ on May 10, 1949, daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys (Minor) Smith.

We have been blessed with the presence of Bernea in our lives. She will be deeply missed by her daughter: Dewella Schmidt of Kunkletown, PA, her sons: Ronald Smith of Lehighton, PA and Justin Schmidt of Effort, PA.

Bernea was the loving grandmother to: Saleena Hollis and Courtney Read.

She is also survived by a brother: Donald Smith and spouse Louisa, sister in law Barbara Smith and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Smith, Carol Reed and spouse Jerry, and John Smith.

Bernea will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery in Annville, PA.
