Bernice Ann (Ronsman) Bomske, 100, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on July 4, 2025, of natural causes surrounded by loving family. She was born on July 26, 1924, in the township of Preble to the late Joe and Caroline (Basten) Ronsman. Bernice met Daniel William Bomske at the Rainbow Garden Roller Skating Rink, fell in love, and subsequently, married on February 20, 1946, at Holy Martyr’s Catholic Church; they wed during a blizzard, yet a large crowd attended. Bernice and Dan were married for 54 years.
Before marriage, Bernice worked at Shefford Cheese. After marriage, she worked for Green Bay Public Schools, the jewelry department at Shopko and Prange Way, St Vincent Continuing Care, Royal Cleaners, and she sold Avon products. Bernice went to the Cerebral Palsy pool almost daily, prioritizing exercise. Bernice enjoyed camping initially, then their cottage near Boot Lake. Bernice liked bowling and playing sheepshead with family and numerous card clubs. She baked tons of cookies. They liked to travel by bus, Amtrak, and car to many states, and Canada. She attended many high-school football games and wrestling matches. She was a Leader in the Girl Scouts. Bernice was a long-time member of St Bernard Parish and was a member of the Altar Society. After Dan Bomske died July 25, 1996, Bernice married her 2nd husband, Karl Muenster, July 20, 2001; Karl died on June 27,2002.
Survivors include her Sons: Gary (Mindy) Bomske, Dale (Jean) Bomske, Thomas (Michelle) Bomske, David (Norma) Bomske, and Steven Bomske; daughter Linda Bomske; grandchildren: William Kesler, Andrew Bomske, Jordana Bomske, Daniel (Ariel) Bomske, Caleb (Stephanie) Bomske, Sarah (Richie) Kim; great grandchildren: Isabella Bomske, Aidan Bomske, Benaiah Bomske, Hadassah Bomske, Elliott Bomske.
Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, Dan; second husband, Karl; parents, Joe and Caroline Ronsman; brothers: Gerald (Vicky) Ronsman, Merrill, “Bud” (Dolores) Ronsman; sister Carol (Gilbert) VandenBush.
Visitation will be on July 11, 2025, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at St Bernard Church, followed by Catholic Mass at 11:00 am at same location with Rev. Dennis Ryan officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Sheperd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be shared at www.NewcomerGreenBay.com.
Bernice’s family would like to extend a special thank you to friends, relatives, and neighbors who helped her during her golden years. The family expresses a heartfelt Thank You to Tammy Marocco and Renee Bullock for the genuine and loving care heading into the final phase. A very special Thank You to Rose Ronsman, who spent countless hours accomplishing varied tasks for mom as well as Carol VandenBush who provided companionship at the end. Also, sincere appreciation to the Aurora Hospice Team and Aurora Hospital Intensive Care Unit as well as Cornerstone and Comfort Keepers Care Giver agencies. “Bless you Mother, for raising us in the ways of Jesus Christ.”
