She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Bowen (Dan Bowen) of Orlando, FL, and Terry Simon (Robert Simon) of Hamden, CT. She has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband and five sisters.

Bernice graduated from Ashley High School in Illinois in 1950. She worked at the International Shoe Company in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Key Punch Operator. While at work, Bernice was active in the Insurance Women of Central Florida.

After retirement, she and Roy enjoyed life on the road in the RV, sometimes traveling six months out of the year. Their travels carried them from Connecticut to Illinois, Colorado, and even as far as Alaska. She is an honorary member of the Winnebago clubs.

Since 1960, Bernice had been a member of St. James Cathedral, offering her service as an usher for over 35 years. There, she also took an active part in the group called "Primetimers" She was also a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge 3216 since 2003 and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2093. Since 2007, Bernice had the pleasure of belonging to the Red Hat Society, "Southern Belles with Charm."

In her later years, she enjoyed weekly carport lunches with friends, the companionship of her dog Ivy, singing along with Daniel O'Donnell, and visiting with neighbors and their furry friends.

She will be remembered by her family and friends for her lifelong love of dancing, especially the polka.

Open Casket Viewing (9:30am) and Funeral Mass (10am) will both be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at St. James Catholic Cathedral, 215 N Orange Ave Orlando, FL 32801.
