Bernice Cecilia Reinagel, age 98, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home in Kelso, MO.
On August 8, 1926, in New Hamburg, MO she was born to the late Erwin and Agnes Westrich Glastetter.
She married Leroy Lawrence Reinagel on April 2,1945 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in New Hamburg, MO, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2006.
After marriage and serving in the military, Leroy & Bernice returned to New Hamburg, MO to start their family. Soon Leroy started Reinagel Construction in which Bernice was his steadfast partner. In 1972, Kelso Supply was created, and Bernice was part of the founding family.
Bernice was an active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Sodality, and the St. Augustine Quilters club. She also spent innumerable hours playing solitaire and rummy with friends, relatives, and anyone who would sit with her.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Allan Reinagel, and one grandson Christopher John Reinagel.
Survivors include three sons; Thomas & Susan Reinagel of Cape Girardeau, MO, Ray & Lisa Reinagel of Kelso, MO, and Kenneth Reinagel of Kelso, MO; one sister in law Barbara Reinagel of Atlanta, Ga; one daughter, Roxanne & Gary Ziegler of Kelso, MO; one brother, Ronald & Mary Francis Glastetter of New Hamburg, MO; three sisters: Georgiana Enderle of Benton, MO, Mary Ann Robert of Benton, MO, and one sister in law Doris Glastetter of Oran, MO; ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family wishes to give thanks to the many friends and relatives who visited her, but especially her care takers and their families who became part of our family; Tori, Olivia, Nicole, Madison, Mallory, Danielle, and a special friend Michael, and to everyone at Mercy Southeast Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, MO from 8:30-10:30 am with St. Anne’s Sodality prayers to start at 10:30 am. The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am with Father Tom Wilk.
Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
The Pallbearers will be Brian Ziegler, Alan Ziegler, Scott Reinagel, Michael Pobst, Allan Wayne Reinagel, Jayden Pobst, Darren Glastetter and Jacob Reinagel.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to the St. Augustine Building Campaign or the Notre Dame High School Foundation.
