Bert Shively was born March 12, 1955, in Taylor County, KY., to the late Dempsey Edward and Mary Margaret Jones Shively. He departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Taylor Regional Hospital, having attained the age of seventy years, four months and eight days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Jacob Grove Baptist Church in Summersville. He was employed with Lee’s Famous Recipe in Greensburg for over 30 years and worked at Green County High School as a custodian for 16 years.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Lucille Thornton, three sisters: Valeria Shively, Shearion Johnson, and Jerri Phillips; and two brothers: Kenneth and Steven Shively,
Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Thornton Shively of Greensburg; three daughters: Candace Thornton of Greensburg; Tracy Page and her husband Jimmy of Summersville, KY; and Aurra Griffith of Louisville, KY; one sister: Sandra Shively of Campbellsville, KY.; two grandchildren: Jalen and JeRon Thornton of Lexington, KY plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral service for Bert Shively will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11 AM Central Time at Foster-Toler Curry Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens Cemetery in Summersville.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Foster-Toler Curry Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM Central Time and after 7 AM Central Time on Monday until the time of the Funeral Service.
