HOULTON, Bert E. Suitter (Sonny), 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly on September 22, 2025. He was born on July 23, 1938 in Houlton the son of Bert and Hazel (Ellis) Suitter.

Bert enjoyed being outdoors, spending many hours working in his gardens and raspberry patch. He enjoyed yard work and ran his own successful landscaping company for many years. He also enjoyed his weekly coffee meetings with his coffee buddies. But above all of this he loved his family most, spending time with his wife and daughters, their spouses and his many grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years Dianne (Swim) Suitter of Houlton, his five daughters Cindy Tracy and her husband Mike, of Waldoboro, ME., Karen Blackie and her husband Patrick of Carmel, ME., Carolyn Kelley and her husband Rick of Linneus, Debi Bartlett and her husband Jason of Durham, ME., and Amy Ward and her husband Kirk of Houlton, ME., his grandchildren; Arin Joudrey and her husband Darryl, Sara Crooker and her husband Toby, Jonathan Blackie and his significant other Eliza, Jacob Blackie and his wife Bernice, Melissa Little and her husband Shawn, Kristen McQuade and her husband Shane, Jensen Bartlett, Griffin Bartlett, Felicity Ward and her fiance Andrew Moulton, Blake Ward and Rhyker Ward, eighteen great grandchildren, his siblings, Connie Barriner, Ervin Suitter, and Larry Suitter, a dear loved one Brian Keith and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, one granddaughter, Makenna, son-in-law Arnold Fitzpatrick. Also predeceased by his siblings Edwin, Maxine, Kenny, Donna, Robert, Ronald, Joann, Marvin, Glenn, Althea, Ray, Jeanette, Darrell, and Norma.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 27th from 2-3 pm at Houlton Wesleyan Church, 18 Kelleran St., Houlton. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Wayne Robertson officiating.
