Berta Gonzales Ramirez, 79, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on November 22nd, 2024.
Berta was born in Cotulla on June 2, 1945 to Genoveva Jasso and Jesus Hinojosa Gonzales. She married Salvaldor Tellez Ramirez on August 8th, 1965 until he passed away on May 26th, 2016. With whom she had five children during the 51 years of marriage. Beloved mother to Salvador Allen, Alec Gonzales, Norman Nelson, Jesse Elmer, and James Orlando Ramirez.
Berta obtained her first and only job as a nurse's aid despite not having any credentials for the position. The nursing home she worked at was just a few blocks from the house she had resided in San Antonio.
In 2004, Berta retired and spent her free time cooking, doing word search puzzles with close friends and taking care of others.
Berta was predeceased by her husband Salvador (Chalon), Jesse, Alec and Salvador Allen (Guero). She is survived by two sisters Catarina Gonzalez and Anna Davis; two sons James and Norman Ramirez; three grandchildren Desiree (Rick) Benitez, Bethany Ramirez, Alec Ramirez; four great grandchildren Cole Anthony James Ramirez, Ares Elijah Ramirez, Richard Grayson Benitez, and soon to be Liliana Benitez. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Memorial services will be held at Alamo Funeral Chapels at 624 N Alamo St., San Antonio TX 78215 on January 25th at 10:00a.m.. Doors will be open from 8:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alamo Funeral Chapels.
