Beth Greipel

Beth Greipel (nee Evangeline Beth Grove) went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1937 to Harry and Marjann Grove in Los Angeles, CA, where she grew up. In her teens, Beth accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and her faith became the guiding force throughout her life. She graduated from Eagle Rock High School and attended Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree and passed the exam to become an RN.
While in nursing school, she met Rudy Greipel on the church steps and won his heart with her beautiful smile. They were married on January 30, 1959, and they resided in Glendale, La Crescenta, and Hacienda Heights, CA. Beth worked as the office nurse for three orthopedic surgeons before quitting to start her family – a son named Gary and a daughter named Laurie. For Rudy's job, the family moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1968 and then to New Providence, NJ in 1970 where Beth lived until her death.
Beth was a devoted wife and a nurturing Mom and Grandma. She enjoyed being a home-maker and raising her children, including volunteering to help with school activities and becoming a Scout leader. She loved dogs and the family adopted a number of mixed breed dogs from shelters and chose others from local breeders. Among her favorites were two black Labrador Retrievers, Phantom and Magic, that weren't going to make it as show dogs but were loving and devoted companions. She always enjoyed learning, so when her children were grown, she returned to college to take additional courses in history and literature. Through her church, she completed the Bethel Bible Series study of the Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Glenn Grove. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rudy; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Krista Greipel: her daughter, Laurie Greipel: her grandson, Vasha Greipel; her granddaughter, Svetlana Greipel; her brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Patricia Grove; and nephews, Scott and Travis Neale, and nieces, Linda Millard and Dana Burke.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00-8:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 22nd at 11:00 AM (family and friends may begin to gather at 10:30 AM). Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ.
