Lillian D. Serina

Lillian D. Serina (née Alley), age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on October 8, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1936, in Maplewood, NJ, Lillian was the daughter of the late Bertha (née Von Der Heide) and Harry Alley. She was a longtime resident of Basking Ridge and Millington before settling in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Lillian was known by all who met her as a warm, caring person who truly loved everyone. Family was at the center of her life, and she found joy in celebrating special occasions with her loved ones. One of her cherished traditions was selecting the perfect card from the Hallmark store, each one chosen with thought and love. She also enjoyed memorable trips to the casinos in Atlantic City and Pennsylvania alongside her devoted husband, Frank.
Affectionately known as "Diamond Lil" to her friends, Lillian will be remembered most for her generous heart, loving spirit, and deep devotion to her family. She was a treasured wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Lillian is survived by her beloved husband, Frank J. Serina; her children, James J. Rillo and his wife Lisa, Thomas W. Rillo and his wife Ruth and Sandra M. Schroeder and her husband Keith. She was the proud grandmother of Joey, Tiffany, Nick, and Corey Rillo, and Keith Jr., Serina, and Kohl Schroeder, and great-grandmother to Landon, Mason, Ella Claire, Weston, Oakley, Declan, Aspen, and Slate.
She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings: Everette Alley, Ruth Bright, and Arlene Chisholm.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, October 16th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th, at 11:00 AM at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ.
