Bette D. Godbey

Bette D. (Chambers) Godbey, 66, of Anderson passed away January 10, 2022 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
She was born December 22, 1955 in Anderson, Indiana and was a Pendleton resident most of her life.
Bette was Coordinator of the Radiology Department at Community Hospital in Anderson.
She was a very devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Bette was a 1974 graduate of Anderson High School and received her bachelors and masters degrees from Indiana University, where she was a member of Alpha Omega Pi Sorority. She loved all types of sports especially golfing, Hoosier Basketball, and swimming which she did competitively at IU. She also enjoyed attending various sporting events her grandchildren were involved in. Bette loved animals especially dogs of which she had many, including Rusty, Jake, Bosley, Bogie, Bella, Betis', Bettis, Bentley, Baxter, Buckley and Beila.
Survivors include her husband, Gary A. Godbey, whom she married, March 10, 1990; five children, Mary (Jon) Harvey of Pendleton, Angie (Bill) Greenwood of Minnesota, Scott Godbey, Brandon (Jennifer) Godbey and Blaine (Mendi) Godbey all of Pendleton; 14 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Andrew; Emily and Nick; Jake; Ethan, Isaac, Adley and Asher; Caleb, Mason, Tyler and Madison; three great grandchildren, Evan, Blake and Amelia; siblings Shannon (Bonita) Chambers of Florida, Steve (Helen) Chambers and Sharon (Marion) Chambers Thomas both of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents, Shannon and Elizabeth (Alger) Chambers; and sister, Gaylen Chambers Euler.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
