Betty June Allen, born June 18, 1931, in Paoli, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, just shy of her 94th birthday. A beloved resident of Greenwood for over 60 years, Betty was known for her warmth, her strength, and her ability to make friends wherever she went.
For 32 years, Betty faithfully drove a school bus, safely delivering generations of children to and from school-a role she took great pride in and one that connected her to the heart of the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Allen, and her cherished great-grandson, Tucker Swain.
Betty is survived by her two loving sons: Richard Allen (Dawn) of Westfield, Indiana, and Timothy Allen (Kelly) of New Palestine, Indiana. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and countless family and friends who were touched by her kindness and wit.
Betty lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor-someone who was truly a friend to all. She will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on June 12, 2025 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main Street Greenwood, IN from 11:00am to 1:00pm, followed by a brief service. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Kenneth Allen, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Tucker Swain Memorial Scholarship Fund-WYS, Inc. at https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MjMzMzIw
Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.
