Betty Louise Cobb, a cherished soul known affectionately as Betty by her loved ones, passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 98 in Corsicana, Texas. Born on September 27, 1926, in Mexia, Texas, Betty's life was marked by her loving nature, creative spirit, and unwavering kindness.
Betty was the heart of her family, a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Wallace Thurman Cobb, and her respected son-in-law, Randall Aston Martin. Her legacy continues through her son, JD Cobb, and his wife, Lisa Diane Cobb; her daughter, Carolyn Cobb Martin; her adored granddaughter, Kristen Martin; and her treasured great-granddaughters, Sydney and Skylar Lohkamp. Betty also leaves behind Minnie Pearl, the family dog and loyal companion, who brought her immense joy and comfort in her later years.
Before retiring, Betty dedicated many years of service to Johnson Controls in the Globe Battery Division located in Garland, Texas. Her colleagues remember her as a steadfast and reliable presence, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement. Betty's interests were a reflection of her vibrant character. She loved square dancing in her younger years with Thurman, her life partner in every sense. Her hands were rarely still, as she found joy in sewing and cooking, collecting antiques, and creating a home filled with love and the aroma of delicious meals. Betty's love for travel took her on many adventures, but she was always happiest cheering on her beloved Texas Rangers, a passion she held close to her heart.
Those who knew Betty will recall a woman of remarkable creativity, always finding new ways to express her love and care. She was the embodiment of kindness, touching the lives of everyone around her with her gentle demeanor and generous spirit. Her love extended beyond her family and friends, as she was a friend to all, always willing to lend an ear or share a smile. As we bid farewell to Betty Louise Cobb, we celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories we share and the love we continue to carry in our hearts. Betty's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the legacy of her love will resonate for generations to come.
