Betty Cochran Obituary
Betty was born in Montgomery County on January 11, 1930 to Charles Johnson and Lillie Dowd McLeod. Betty graduated from Montreat and received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She was a member of Troy Presbyterian Church and a retired Social Worker with Montgomery County DSS.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hilton J. Cochran and sister Evelyn Martin.
Betty is survived by her sons Charles Cochran of Troy; Hilton "Buck" Cochran (Cathy) of Greensboro; and daughter Catherine Boswell (Jack) of Richmond; grandchildren Trey Cochran and Cameron Cochran; nephews Sam Martin, Hugh Martin and niece Ann Stone.
The family will have a private service.

Buck, Catherine, and Charles, I am so sad to hear of your mom's passing. It has been many years since I last saw her, but I will always fondly remember my high school years, hanging out with Buck at y'alls house and talking to your mom. She was always such a pleasant lady. Y'all were blessed with a great mom (and dad). My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sorrowful time.
