Our beloved Betty Jo Duncan passed away, at the age of 77, on November 6, 2022 to join her Lord and Savior in the Kingdom of God after a 16-month battle with cholangiocarcinoma. She died at her home in Conroe, Texas with her loving husband, Robert, at her side and holding her hand. Her final words were "I Love You" to the man she called her husband for 58 wonderful years.
Betty was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 2, 1945 to parents, Elmer and Mary Beatrice Davis. She was very close to her only sibling and older sister, Sharron Hefton. She almost never missed those daily 7pm evening phone calls they enjoyed.
Betty and Robert married on September 5,1964. The couple stayed at each other's side through all the highs and lows throughout the years. Together they navigated college, careers, family, traveling, church, and retirement – never wavering in their devotion to each other. Betty and Robert lived a well-rounded and fulfilled life together.
Her loving sons, Robert and Scott, kept Betty quite busy in the younger years. Now, as time has progressed both sons call the Hill Country area home. She loved visiting the area to see her family and make long-lasting memories. Each son lives busy and successful careers and she was immensely proud of all they have accomplished.
To her only grandchild, she was lovingly referred to as "Grannie," and boy did Betty love Skyllar! Skyllar's fondest memories of her Grannie will always be as her biggest supporter and cheerleader, with unconditional love from the day she was born.
Her life revolved around her Faith and devotion to spreading the Word of Christ. Whether it was through Sunday School, Church, Gideons, fellowship with friends and loved ones, or time spent helping those in need, Betty was present and always willing to share the Lord Jesus to all.
A service and memorial for Betty will take place Monday, November 21, from 3-5pm at West Conroe Baptist Church at 1855 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304.
In lieu of flowers, Betty asked that donations be made in her name through the Gideons Cards present at the service.
