Mrs. Betty L. Fury, 97, passed away December 8, 2024, in Butler, PA, at the Advanced Care Center where she was undergoing rehabilitation to regain walking skills.
She was born September 8, 1927, to the late Raymond S. and Mary Agnes (Phelps) Wiltrout. Betty enjoyed baking and made many kinds of homemade bread, which was made from scratch. Her last batch of bread was baked for Thanksgiving in 2023. Betty also baked many wedding cakes throughout the years.
Betty graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1945. She married Charles H. Fury July 7, 1947 and together they built their home in Wurtemburg. Charley passed away December 6, 2004.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert D. Wiltrout, William (Dutch) Wiltrout and James E. Wiltrout.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Kathy Fury, and a son Bill (Carmelia) Fury of Ellwood City. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Alisa (Brian) Rentschler, Liane (Nick) Fritch, Carli (Greg) Silvestri, and Emily (Jared) Mazzant, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The loves of her life were ten great grandchildren, Peyton and Bryce Rentschler, Sophia and Nico Fritch, Lucas, Greyson, and Theo Silvestri, and Rosalie, Jared (Bear), and Julian Mazzant.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Interment will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Mrs. Fury's name may be made to: Divine Grace Parish Social Service, 300 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, Pa 16117.
