Betty was born on November 10, 1928, in Milltown, IN, to Forest and Pearl (Wiseman) Hoten. Throughout her life, Betty worked as a Food Inspector for the USDA. She was also an active member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed quilting, traveling, and music.
Betty's is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Hoffman; her first husband, Lendell Pirtle; her parents, Forest and Pearl (Wiseman) Hoten.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Kathy) Pirtle, Marvin Pirtle, Rolla Pirtle, Karen (Monty) Mahoney, Connie (David) Gettlefinger, June (Beau) Solley, and Leanna (Tony) Heintz. She is also survived by her stepson, Ronnie Hoffman, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, IN, with the funeral service following at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Union Chapel Cemetery.
