FORT WORTH - Betty Jean Kellander passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at the age of 89.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2025, in the Breyley Room at Mount Olivet Chapel. Funeral: 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Born August 20, 1935 in Blossom, Texas to Joseph and Lillian Rhodes Barcigalupia, Betty was the heart and soul of her family, known for her compassion and sense of humor.
Betty married Charles "Chuck" Kellander on July 16, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas. They loved to travel. She said Chuck liked to drive and she made a great passenger. In later years he was her dedicated caregiver in addition to beloved husband.
A devoted mother of four and grandmother of seven, Betty's greatest joy came from her family and friends.
Betty was very proud of her 40-year membership to the Order of the Eastern Star where she twice held the position of Worthy Matron. She belonged to the Castleberry and Lake Worth Chapters. She was also a member of Lake Worth Baptist Church.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph Benjamin Barcigalupia and Lillian Beatrice Rhodes Barcigalupia; brothers JB Batch, Wesley Batch, Frank Batch, and Jesse Batch; sisters Rachel Pyron, Fanny White, Nancy Dunlap, Ruby Long, Ruth Thompson, Miriam Jackson and her beloved Sarah Lee.
Betty is survived by her husband Chuck Kellander; her children Michael Edmonson and his spouse, Glenda, Direthia Burton, Sheila Stephenson and her spouse, Dwain, Kirk Edmonson and his spouse, Karen. She was the proud grandmother to Justin Burton and his spouse Erica, Kara Cizek and her spouse, Daimen, Brian Stephenson and his spouse, Jessica, Matthew Stephenson and his spouse, Amanda, Chasity Rush and her spouse, Jonathan, Zachary Edmonson and his spouse, Brittany, Cory Edmonson and his spouse, Darrian and 14 great-grandchildren.
Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
