Betty Catherine (Greathouse) Malone, 91, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her home in Seymour while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Medora, Indiana on October 26, 1933, to the late Lester and Beulah (Shelton) Greathouse.
Betty was raised in Medora Indiana with her two sisters Frances (Ene) and Sharron. She graduated from Brownstown High School in 1951. On September 18, 1955, Betty married Preston "Bob" Malone. Together they raised three children, Robert Dale "Bobby" Malone, Marsha (Malone) Layton, and Mark Malone. Betty worked at the Jackson County Courthouse for over 40 years. When she retired in 1998, Betty was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash. Betty gave her life to God in 1951. She was a member of Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic for over 60 years.
Betty is survived by her children, Mark and Marsha; grandchildren, Robert, Candi, Autumn, Laurielle, and Ethan; great-grandchildren, Collin, Eveline, Mattlyn, Evan, Jensen, and Brielle; great-great grandchildren, Kylie and Preston; and sister, Sharron.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert, and her sister Frances (Ene).
Funeral services for Betty will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 607 Euclid Avenue, Seymour, Indiana. Pastor Dennis Allman and Pastor Denny Allman will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Betty will be laid to rest immediately following at Riverview Cemetery.
