Betty Mills

Betty Mills, 87, Flora, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Delphi. She was born September 13, 1934 in Logansport to Thomas and Martha (Wagoner) Sanderson. She married Steven Mills on July 15, 1961. He survives.
Betty was a 1952 graduate of Camden High School. She went on to earn her bachelors degree from Franklin College, and her masters degree from Ball State University. She worked as a teacher at Daniel Webster Elementary School for 4 years before she moved to Carroll Elementary School where she retired after 27 years of teaching.
Betty was a member of Flora Christian Church, an honorary retired member of Psi Iota Psi, life member of Delta Zeta Sorority, and member of Indiana Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed cooking, being active in church and traveling on their annual mission trips to Mississippi. But her family was her true passion. She enjoyed planning family meals and get togethers, and would never miss seeing her grandsons in their sports and activities.
Along with her husband of almost 61 years, Betty is survived by her daughters, Angie (Tim) Delworth and Jane (Jeremy) Deno; and four grandsons, Alex and Carter Delworth and Brock and Luke Deno.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brent Mills; and siblings, Dean Sanderson and Nancy Williams.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 from 2pm until the time of the service at 4pm at Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel. Pastor Benjamin Lantzier will officiate.
Betty and her family are eternally grateful for the amazing compassion and care from her home health nurses that allowed her to stay in her home over the last several years. The family would like to thank Ashley, Candice, Carmen, Erinn, Krista, Haley for loving Betty as their own family member and caring for her as such.
