Passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home, at the age of 82 years.
The daughter of the late Sylvia B. (Bradd) (Gerald) Nelson and Norman (Eleanor) Clinkston, Betty was born on November 9, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan. She married William Schwind in August of 1962, he predeceased her on February 19, 1982. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Her passion was teaching country dance and line dancing. Betty enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are her son and daughter, Thomas Schwind, Melissa (Sunday) Egbukaye; six grandchildren, Wayne (Linda) Schwind, Rachel (David) Lawler, Madison Schwind (Jeremy Falcone), Brittany (Jeremy) McDowell, Britton Cornelius, Blair (Tre) Rice; nine great-grandchildren; her companion of over 30 years, Gerald Houghton; two brothers, Steven (Alice) Clinkston, and Michael (Melanie) Clinkston. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Clinkston, and grandson, Brandon Cornelius.
Memorial Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Viola Gonzales will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of service.
