After retirement, Betty and Bill traveled extensively all over the country enjoying time with their camping club.
Family meant the world to Betty. She cherished her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. Her affection extended to her beloved rescue dog, Thelma, who brought her comfort and companionship.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Bill" Littleton Spencer; sister, Katie Louise Johnson; and brothers, Joseph Fain Pruitt, and Luther Benjamin Pruitt.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Beth) Spencer of LaGrange, GA and Scott (Dayle) Spencer of Douglasville, GA; two grandchildren, Meredith (Zach) Miller of Auburn, AL, and Nicole (Zack) Holloman of Rydal, GA; and three great grandchildren, Hannah Helen Miller, Noah Richard Miller and Caleb Spencer Miller all of Auburn, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating.
