Beverly Ann (Moore) Bancroft, New Palestine, Indiana, passed away on October 2, 2023 after a long illness surrounded by her family. She now enjoys eternal life in paradise with our Triune God and her ancestors, friends and recent family members who preceded her.
Beverly was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on September 12, 1951 to parents Wallace R. Moore and Jeanette I (Wilson) Moore. She lived most of her childhood and teenage years in Canfield, Ohio.
Beverly graduated from Canfield High School in 1970 and then attended and graduated from Kent State University in 1974 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, majoring in Consumer Science. Bev received many academic awards in high school and college and, during college, was a member of Chi Omega sorority where she served as vice president.
On August 17, 1974, Beverly married childhood, high school and college sweetheart Thomas Bancroft. Tom and Bev were very happily married for 49 years.
Beverly taught high school consumer science at Warren Harding High School in Warren, Ohio and Boardman High School in Boardman, Ohio. She also served as a teaching assistant in Richmond, Maxwell and Greenfield in Indiana. In addition, Bev loved her volunteer job in the genealogy department at Hancock County Public Library. She is remembered by her students, fellow teachers and administrators as a caring, patient and effective educator who loved her profession and helping others in all walks of life.
Beverly is remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and great aunt who looked for good qualities in everyone while serving as a positive role model. She is remembered by friends in the same way.
Beverly enjoyed traveling to, and experiencing many National Parks with her family, her favorite being Yellowstone National Park. She also enjoyed traveling to, and experiencing England and Scotland. She was an avid reader of murder mysteries, loved streaming Brit Box and enjoyed many types of historical travel and tours. Everyone who knew Beverly will remember her love and enthusiasm for family histories and genealogy. She lovingly researched, compiled, wrote then gifted detailed family histories and tree charts to many family members. Beverly also enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Beverly was an active mission partner at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church in New Palestine, Indiana and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Bancroft, daughters Carrie (Mark) Correll, Jessica (Matthew) Bukala; granddaughters Grace and Claire; grandsons William and Alexander; sisters Jennifer Hogan and Debby Fitzpatrick; and many nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Wallace R. Moore, mother Jeanette I (Wilson) Moore, stepfather George Pulliam, maternal grandparents Carl and Mildred Wilson, and paternal grandparents Harry and Beatrice Moore.
A memorial service will be scheduled in the near future at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church in New Palestine, Indiana. It is requested that contributions in Beverly's honor be made to the Cross of Grace Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund.
