Shirley Ann (Flickinger) McMinn, age 95, passed away on September 27, 2025.
She was born on April 30, 1930, in Alliance Ohio, to Jacob Flickinger and Irene (Miller) Flickinger.
Shirley graduated from Alliance High School in 1948. She then attended The University of Mount Union for two years and completed her Bachelors in education at Kent State University in 1952. Shirley taught at North Lincoln and Parkway Elementary.
Shirley attended First Immanuel United Church of Christ since 1955. She was a member of Adult Bell and Chancel Choir. Shirley was also a volunteer for Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was a lifelong member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority and a member of Alliance Retired Teacher Association. Shirley enjoyed painting, gardening, playing piano, and spending her time with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael S. (Tami) McMinn, Melanie S. (Gary) Duvall, and Beth A. (Dave) McMinn; five grandchildren, Jacob (Amy) Duvall, Spencer Duvall (Caleb Oberther), Megan (Chris) Betts, Matthew McMinn (Kelly), and Amelia (Ray) McMinn-Cox; two great-grandchildren, Brantley Duvall, and Roscoe Betts; and a niece and several nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Scott McMinn.
A private family service will be held.
