Beverly Jean Lambert

Beverly Jean Franklin was born on November 15, 1947 at General Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the ninth child born to Sarah L. and Vernon C. Franklin. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools and North Central High School where she graduated in 1965.

On January 9, 1966, she married the late James Fount Gordon II, which ended in divorce several years later. James Fount Gordon III and RauShawn Fount Gordon I were born from that union. Beverly later married Charles Lambert on August 17, 1996. Through this union they became foster parents and adopted Bethany, Charles, and Malachi Lambert. They continued to shower their love and affection upon other children including Ashley Warren.

In earlier years Beverly was employed at Methodist Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, Winona Hospital, and private healthcare as a phlebotomist. Later she began as a Youth Guidance Specialist at Pleasant Run Children’s Home Inc. She was able to cook and provide guidance for the children and even the staff looked forward to her meals. Beverly enjoyed cooking large family meals, baking cakes, and pies from scratch. What Beverly enjoyed most was watching others enjoy her food. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, music, dancing, and fashion. She will be missed by her sister Maxine (Willie) Mitchell and her baby brother Lorenzo Franklin and all who knew her. Beverly leaves to cherish her memory husband Charles Lambert, sons James (Molly), RauShawn (Tomekia) who preceded her in death, Charles, and Malachi; daughter Bethany Lambert; grandchildren, James Fount Gordon IV, Gabriel Gordon (who preceded her in death), Noah Fount Gordon, Tyler RauShawn Gordon, Terrell Andre Gordon (who preceded her in death), RauShawn Fount Gordon II and Elijah Fount Gordon (who preceded her in death) Maxine; sister (Willie), brother, Lorenzo Franklin; many nieces and nephews; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at 12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan - Floral Park.
