Beverly Ann Maxwell, age 85 of Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Ben Hur Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 6, 1939 to LeRoy and Genevieve (Eirschele) Kohl in Cincinnati, Ohio. Beverly married Donald L. Maxwell on August 6, 1960 in Crawfordsville, spending over 58 loving years together until his passing in 2019.
She graduated from Mother of Mercy High School in Cincinnati in 1957. Beverly moved to Crawfordsville in 1958, and she worked at RR Donnelleys for a short time, where she met Donald. She was a longtime member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, well known as the "Candle Lady" and assisted with Bernie's Buffet. After retirement, Beverly and Donald spent their winters in Fort Pierce, FL for 9 years. Beverly was competitive and enjoyed playing board games, Bingo and card games, especially Euchre. Beverly was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. She loved being outside, tending to her flower gardens. Beverly was also a great pianist, baker and enjoyed creating crafts with crochet and latch hook. Later in life, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Beverly is survived by her three children, David Maxwell, Marcia VanCleave and Linda (Gerald) Williams; four grandchildren, Blaine (Skye) VanCleave, Reese (Haley) VanCleave, Skyler (Samy) Williams and Shelby (Jesus Bonilla) Williams; five great grandchildren, Liam, Dean and Nadeem Williams, Oliva Bonilla and Gracie VanCleave. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; parents; sister, Dorothy Danzebrink.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 4-6 pm at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Bernards Catholic Church, 1306 E Main Street in Crawfordsville. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to Donald. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com
