Beverly Elaine "Bev" Phillips, of Stoughton, formerly of Long Island, NY and Jamaica, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away on October 14, 2025, after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of kindness that resonated with all who knew her. Born on January 16, 1953, in the beautiful Mount Charles, Mavis Bank, Jamaica, Beverly's life was a testament to her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
As the daughter of the late Urel and Hazel (McGann) Phillips, Beverly inherited a sense of strength and resilience that would define her journey. Her warmth and nurturing nature were evident from a young age, traits that she carried with her throughout her life. Beverly's role as a loving mother to her children, Hugh Gooden of Jamaica and Luna Williams of Stoughton, was her most cherished achievement. Her guidance and affection were a guiding light in their lives, and her influence remains a profound presence.
She also leaves behind a sister, Lorna Philips and her husband Manley and nephew Anthony.
Known affectionately as "Aunt Bev" to her nieces Sydonie Leonard, Vaciane Simeon and Alina Daley. Beverly was a pillar of support and joy within her family. Her laughter and love filled their hearts with memories that will endure forever. She also took immense pride in her grandchild Jody-Ann Nelson and great-grandchildren, Mia, Max, Marley, and Miles, whose lives have been graced with her kindness and wisdom.
Beverly's dedication to her career as a Nurses Aide was a reflection of her innate desire to care for others. Having worked tirelessly in healthcare both in Jamaica and the United States, her commitment to the well-being of her patients was unwavering. Her colleagues and those she cared for will fondly remember her for her compassion and professionalism.
Beyond her work, Beverly was a woman of many passions. Her love for cooking was more than a hobby; it was a way to bring people together, to share in the joy of a meal prepared with love. Holidays were special occasions in Beverly's home, where she would surround herself with family, embracing the festive spirit and creating unforgettable moments.
Shopping was another of Beverly's delights, an activity she indulged in not just for herself but often to find the perfect gifts for those she loved. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her thoughtfulness was always done with a heart full of love.
Beverly Elaine Phillips lived a life that exemplified the virtues of love, kindness, and generosity. Her impact on the world was as profound as it was gentle, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt the touch of her grace. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her spirit will forever be cherished and celebrated by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday October 30th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main St.(RT. 28), Randolph. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
