Beverly Jean Tokarczyk, lovingly known as Bev, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Avon Cleveland Clinic in Avon, Ohio, surrounded by her devoted children after a brief illness. Born and raised in Lorain, Ohio, Bev lived her entire life in this cherished community.
Bev graduated from Clearview High School in 1955 and went on to attend Elyria Business School. For a brief time, she embarked on a career as a bank computer operator at Elyria Savings & Trust, where she was known for her dedication and skill.
Above all, Bev cherished her family. She embraced her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with unwavering love and devotion. Her family was the center of her life, and she took immense pride in nurturing and supporting each of her loved ones.
Bev was a pillar of her community, actively participating in several local organizations. She was a member of St. Ladislaus, St. Vincent DePaul, and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Lorain. Her leadership was evident during her two-year tenure as president of St. Vincent DePaul Church's Altar & Rosary Society. Bev also enjoyed spending time with friends at Rebman's Bowling Alley, where she celebrated her impressive high-scoring game of 522. Her love for social activities extended to gambling bus trips, which she often enjoyed alongside her beloved husband.
A passionate collector, Bev amassed a beautiful collection of over 100 birds and was an avid collector of Hummel figurines. She took great pride in her Hungarian heritage and was actively involved with the Hungarian Council, frequently coordinating meetings and functions to celebrate and preserve her cultural roots.
Bev's vibrant and young-at-heart personality will be fondly remembered by family and friends. She had a special affection for Fridays, her designated beauty shop day, when she ensured her hair was impeccably styled, radiating her timeless elegance.
Beverly Jean Tokarczyk leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and community spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her but will forever be remembered for her unwavering commitment to her family and her lively, joyful presence.
She is survived by her children, Joseph S., IV (Margaret) Tokarczyk, of Lorain, Frank R. (Susan) Tokarczyk, of Amherst, John Tokarczyk, of Lorain, Theresa Empey, of Allen, TX and Jayne (Richard) Morales, of Lorain; grandchildren, Michael Empey, Elena Parker, Stacey Tokarczyk, Corey Smith, Rachel Krok, Michael Tully, Daniel Tokarczyk, Meagan Guerreri, Marcus Morales and Mathew Morales; great grandchildren, Kasia Empey, Mila Empey, Mark Schmidt II, Julianna Schmidt, Allison Schmidt, Adelynn Krok, Beckham Krok, L.J. Guerreri, Hazel Guerreri, Milo Morales and the 11th one on the way! She is also survived by her brothers, Richard J. and Charles Wojtko, both of Vermilion.
Beverly was preceded in death by her dear husband of 62 years, Joseph Stanley Tokarczyk III and her parents, Frank & Julia (nee Kelley) Wojtko.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 2 – 6 pm at Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. I am so sorry to hear of your mother´s passing. Ms. Bev had a beautiful, warm and loving soul that always made you feel welcomed. We always enjoyed our interactions with her and your father, Joe, at family events.
Their presence is greatly missed. May you find comfort in each other and the prayers being made for you during this difficult time.
Love,
David, Quetzy Tokarczyk & the Roldan family.

I am sorry that I was unable to attend the services. Beverly was a great person and personality. It was my pleasure to take Holy Communion to her and Joe. We had many great conversations, mostly about Hungarian cooking. Her commitment to Hungarian causes was unparalleled, broken only by her illness and stay in the nursing home. Bev, I will miss you very much. You reminded me so much of me beloved grandmother, and I so very much appreciated it.
