Sigurd, Utah- William Glen Forsyth, age 78, of Sigurd, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife by his side on September 29, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City to Glenn and Etta Forsyth. Bill grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School. He then earned his degree in diesel mechanics from the local community college.
Bill married Velda Irene Snyder in Salt Lake in 1967, and had 9 children. They later divorced. He then married Jackie Lorraine Stewart in Sigurd in 1993. From this marriage he gained 5 more children. Over the years Bill and Jackie included three more children into the bunch.
Bill worked hard to provide for his family. He was a coal miner at Sufco for over 30 years. When Bill was not at work he was usually out in his yard planting, weeding or building something. Or you could find him in his shed reloading or planning a trip to search for gold.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a faithful journal keeper. He was straight forward, honest, uncomplicated, positive and kind. He loved to serve others and didn’t know when to slow down or take it easy. In his spare time he loved to read, hunt and fish, and tell stories of his youth.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jackie; his children: Kim Rasmussen, Shawn Forsyth, Becky Willden, Shelly Withers, Sara Alfred, Lark Diesel, Tammy Forsyth, Robyn Carter, Tia Newman, Angela Coltharp, Amanda Orton, Amber Gordon, George Strong, Ashley Jacobs, Robert Snow and Jaleessa Allen; 45 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert Forsyth, Diann Peck and Christine Sexton.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister: Pat Muir.
