Honoring the Journey of Bill Addington

"On August 20th, 2025, Billie Jay Addington, also known as AJ 49, ascended to eternal peace in his home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Billie Addington was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Olsen; father, Jimmie Addington; stepfather, Arthur Olsen; and his family; Wendy, Isaiah, and Vivian (Squish). Bill was a shining beacon as a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and best friend to many. He triumphantly overcame numerous trials and tribulations, emerging as the best version of himself. Bill cherished moments spent with his children, grandchildren, and his lifelong best friend, Peggy Addington. Bill shared a profound bond with each of his children, Brook Mays, Anna Addington, and Amber Addington, all residing in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He illuminated every gathering with his presence. Bill's progression was a testament to his unwavering spirit. As an active employee of Planters Peanuts in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Bill's dedication inspired those around him. Ava Mays, Jayden Hernandez, Adrianna Button, Zion Mays, Lily Woodburry, and Nova Crisp were the beacons of his love and pride. Nothing brought him greater joy than sharing stories of his grandbabies. Bill also resided in Florida, where he reveled in the state's beauty, cultivating lifelong friendships that became a second family. We will gather to honor Bill's legacy on Saturday, September 27th at 10a.m. We will celebrate him at Springhill Park in Barling, Arkansas. Join us as we celebrate the life of the biggest Raider fan, our father, and grandfather. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4."
