KERNERSVILLE – Billie L. “Bill” Bailey, 82, of Kernersville, passed away December 8, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family. Bill was born on November 16, 1942, in Davidson County to M.B. “Bill” Bailey and Wilma Potts Bailey. He graduated from West Davidson High School and immediately joined the Air Force, serving from 1962 to 1969. Bill was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After leaving the Air Force, he became a N.C. State Highway Patrolman, stationed in Winston-Salem. After retiring, he received his real estate license and worked in Myrtle Beach for nine years. Bill then moved to Kernersville where he enjoyed raising a garden every summer. He took pride in bragging about the tomatoes he grew.
Bill is survived by his significant other, Sandy Tilley; one daughter, Lisa Peddle; one son, Tim Bailey; one brother, Albert Bailey (Barbara); one sister, Brenda Smith (Bill Shore); four grandchildren, Chase Canter (Kimberly), Sydney Peddle, Christian Bailey (Brianna), and Brandon Bailey; two great grandchildren, Olivia Canter and Levi Bailey; and a bonus daughter, Bri Campbell (Steve).
He loved his three fur babies, Daisy, Charlie, and Gabby, who will miss him very much.
In remembrance, Bill’s family asks those who knew him to reflect on his life, his humor, and his gift of making friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
